TRACEABILITY and IDENTIFICATION

Once the waste (batteries, accumulators, etc.) has been received by our recycling centers, it is essential to identify it.

Pre-treatment unit

DIRECT SORTING

concerns small accumulators, cells, removable and portable batteries, etc.

SEPARATION

by battery types based on typology (size, shape, etc.) but also by electrochemical groups:

– primary (Alkaline, Saline, Lithium…)

– rechargeable (NiCd, NiMH, Li-ion…)

SCREENING

A process which allows accumulators to be separated from the insulating products which protect them during transport.

DISMANTLING

concerns batteries from the automotive and aeronautics industries.

A method separating component cells from by-products such as cables, boxes, protections, etc.

Processes

mechanical unit

Intended to treat raw or thermolyzed waste, this process makes it possible to separate plastic and paper materials from metals using a density or magnetism grinding method.

DENSITY GRINDING

Used to capture light fractions of plastics and paper.

MAGNETISM GRINDING

Used to capture metallic fractions.

thermal unit

Various techniques aimed at treating the material by raising the temperature in order to evacuate the solvents and organic parts and preserve the metallic fractions.

THERMOLYSIS

A thermal process integrating a low-oxygen environment allowing:
– INERTION of batteries by removing residual energy
– ELIMINATION of solvents (electrolytes) and organic residues (plastics, etc.).

distillation

A thermal process which makes it possible to separate, by evaporation and recondensation, the different metals present in the battery or production waste.

refining

A thermal process which makes it possible to obtain high purity of metals resulting from treatment via distillation.

HYDROMETALLURGICAL UNIT

A process, on an industrial pilot scale, to test the purification of recycled materials.

Continuous control and quality

Control and quality intervene continuously in order to characterize the waste allowing its use in pre-treatment but also throughout the recycling process.
